Martin Corben

Martin Corben

Martin is a media professional with diverse experience - including radio, web, video, audio and social media. His interviews and programs involving a mix of high profile personalities and regular citizens have helped make him an award winning journalist and program maker. 

He currently trains broadcasters across Australia and internationally in key skills of interviewing, reporting and presenting and also delivers media spokesperson skills training to professional and Government organizations.  

After starting his media career in community radio, he joined ABC Radio as a reporter before going on to present State and National rural current affairs programs. His interviews were also heard on national ABC current affairs programs AM and PM. 

Martin was Regional Manager and Breakfast presenter at ABC North Coast (NSW) from 1996-2006 (#1 in market) and later moved to ABC Sydney to work as a multimedia reporter, on-air presenter and Content Director.  

Later at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) he initiated a nationwide regional training program in film, radio and TV skills. He has international experience in South Africa, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Myanmar, with a particular emphasis in regional and Indigenous media content.

Sonia Zavesky

A former journalist, Sonia Zavesky is a highly experienced media and crisis skills trainer, working with clients in the corporate, government, business and community sectors.

Sonia is also experienced at handling communications on behalf of an organisation, following her three years as Director of Communication for a global not for profit organisation. While located at the international head office in The Netherlands, Sonia gained a wealth of experience in managing a controversial global brand and dealing with international media.Before becoming a media trainer, Sonia spent almost ten years as a news and current affairs journalist with the ABC, where she was a guest presenter of several programs, a parliamentary reporter, and later a correspondent based in Prague. On her return to Australia, Sonia was the Executive Producer of ABC Radio News in Sydney.

From 2009 – 2016 Sonia was a Board Member of Action Aid Australia, and she is currently a Mentor with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET).
